At present, the key livelihood project of our county - the dam of the Laoxi Water Source Project - has entered a critical sprint stage.

At the construction site, the reporter saw that workers were installing concrete pouring formwork on the top of the dam with hoisting vehicles. The main parts such as the water intake tower and culvert were undergoing final work. The entire construction site was bustling yet orderly. Zeng Lingbo, the production manager of the Laoxi Water Source Project, told reporters that to ensure the progress and quality of the project, the construction team adopted a "two-shift rotation" operation mode, with human-machine collaboration, strictly controlling each process such as formwork installation and concrete pouring. Under the premise of ensuring the dual hard indicators of safety and quality, they were working at full capacity.

Zeng Lingbo, the production manager of the Laoxi Water Source Project, said, "The dam construction has reached an elevation of 374.2 meters and is still 4.7 meters short of reaching the top of the dam." At present, a two-shift construction method for workers is adopted to ensure the progress of the dam construction. The main body of the dam is planned to complete the pouring of the concrete on the top of the dam by early August.

It is understood that the main dam of the Laoxi Water Source Project is divided into the non-spillway dam section on the left and right banks and the spillway dam section, and is composed of the main dam, water diversion gates, flood discharge and sand flushing gates, etc. The foundation elevation of the dam is 323 meters (321 meters for the upstream and downstream notches), the height of the dam is 55.2 meters, the total length is 134 meters, and the top width is 6 meters.

After the project is completed, it will ensure that the high-quality water source of Laoxi Mountain is "guaranteed when it comes and available during droughts", meeting the people's demand for "drinking mountain spring water throughout the year", greatly improving the seasonal water shortage problem in Fuchuan County, and enhancing the water supply guarantee capacity of the county and surrounding towns.
